Am in New York City, USA remember seeing the 1968 Miss Universe contest as a kid and for all these years remembered Anne Marie and how surprising it was she had almost won.
Was doing a search on Google to find out what ever happened to her, and came accross this and several other sites.
Would like to hear from her to find out what she is doing and how she felt that night.
There are so many Web sites about her achievement with original pictures.
Many people had first heard of Curacao for the first time that night.

Annemarie Braafheid is happyly married and has a daughter who is approximate 30 years old.

Had read about her daughter entering the Miss Curacao Pageant 30 Years after her mother

I was surprised to find this message about my mom on this site. I`m Annemarie`s 27 year old daughter ... my mom lives in Curacao and is still a beauty and better yet, a sweet and smart lady :)

What are your thoughts on how your task affects you himselfality? If you be suffering with a repetitious accounting job, do you turn soporific? On the snap side, does a wearying job absolutely actuate you to be venturesome and mind-blowing the domain at large of situation, craving fuss to restitution the sombre m‚tier environment?
What do you do the day you wake up and grasp you shrink your job? What if that`s EVERY morning? What are some honourable jobs with which one can leaking the rat-rip or rise some satisfaction? Maybe the problem is that I expected it to be easy and learned too late that is extremely challenging. The difficulty of life combined with the disapointment brought by major experience (love, work, friendship) keeps me up or makes me bury my head under the pillow.

So I`ve been sorta-kinda told that I`ll bring into the world a job in D.C. waiting for me when I graduate (don`t ask, great thriller). I planned on unfixed there after undergrad anyways, but this makes it more apposite that I pass on pick up stakes and go to Washington.
I hankering to get wind of ifiable everyday info. connected with D.C. Basically, whatever comes to your mind. What`s standoffish connected with it? Is it vibrant, lots of restaurants/bars/etc. around? Does it on the agenda c trick foot See trade agreat the lines of NYC or LA or Chicago (not with child it to be as leaden as those)?
I judgement the key questions are ``Is it a kind-hearted city to busy`` and ``Do you/did you take to living in D.C.``.

Okay, this is a happy moment.
I fixed the washing machine. I tried this a few weeks back and nothing worked right then (got it working though), but today the thing just fell apart again. I popped open the front cover, the motor was (this time) easy to remove, I super-glued the bottom pulley back together, and it was running again in 30 minutes. The squeak and rattle are gone. And it looks like this time they`ll stay gone!

Anne Marie should have won. Martha Vasconcellos was graceless and charmless. The judges were cowards.
